- A total of nine escalators will be replaced in Salt de l’Aigua, Manises, Rosas, Alboraya Palmaret, Alboraya Peris Aragó and Safranar
- This action is part of the escalator and lift improvement programme carried out by FGV to increase their operating conditions, availability and reliability
The Generalitat will allocate more than 2.8 million euros to replace nine escalators at the Salt de l’Aigua, Manises, Rosas, Alboraya Palmaret, Alboraya Peris Aragó and Safranar stations, which belong to the Metrovalencia network.
Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has put out to tender the drafting of projects and installation works of this equipment for an initial amount of 2,826,915.50 Euro including VAT. The contract establishes a period of four months for the drafting of the projects and 12 months for the installation of the nine escalators.
The successful bidder must draft six construction projects, disassemble the existing escalators, and manufacture and install the new ones.
The replacement of these nine escalators is carried out in view of the continuous breakdowns and failures recorded in the current equipment that prevent their normal operation. Two units will be installed in Salt de l’Aigua, Manises and Rosas, while Alboraya Palmaret, Alboraya Peris Aragó and Safranar are planned to have one per station.
This action is in addition to the escalator and lift improvement and renovation programme carried out by FGV, together with the maintenance and conservation of this equipment that is carried out on a regular basis. Metrovalencia currently has a total of 85 lifts and 137 escalators.
With these works, the Generalitat has set itself the goal of increasing the mobility and accessibility conditions for customers using the metro and tram services in Valencia and its metropolitan area.
