Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) presented its Public Employment Offer (OEP) for 2025 to the Board of Directors last month. The offer totals 172 positions, 142 for Metrovalencia and 30 for TRAM d’Alacant.
This announcement will be submitted to the Valencian Government Plenary for ratification, a prerequisite for its publication in the Official Gazette of the Valencian Government (DOGV).
The job openings are: 1 doctor in Alicante, 1 nurse in Alicante, 2 workshop foremen in Valencia, 4 workshop team leaders, 13 workshop tradespeople in Valencia, 4 senior tram line officers, 12 control center operators in Valencia, 1 control center operator in Alicante, 62 train drivers in Valencia, 19 train drivers in Alicante, 13 traffic managers in Valencia, 6 traffic managers in Alicante, 16 intervention agents in Valencia, 1 intervention agent in Alicante, 16 station agents in Valencia, and 1 substation and remote control supervisor in Alicante.
In this recruitment process, 10% of the positions will be reserved for people with disabilities or functional diversity (Art. 64 Law 4/2021, of April 16, of the Valencian Government, on the Valencian Public Service) in the positions of station agents in Valencia (10 positions) and intervention agents (7 positions). Therefore, 17 positions included in the Public Employment Offer will comply with this regulation.
Furthermore, the necessary adaptation and accessibility measures will be considered so that people with functional diversity can take the established tests under conditions appropriate to their situation and on equal terms with all other applicants.
This Public Employment Offer will also include the necessary measures to ensure equality between women and men, in accordance with the provisions of Organic Law 3/2007, of March 22, for the effective equality of women and men.
The offer was negotiated with the trade unions represented on the FGV Provincial Works Councils, in a meeting held on December 1, 2025.
Another 68 positions for train drivers and the addition of new controllers
Last year, in mid-December, FGV opened a public call for applications, through a competitive examination process, to fill 68 positions in train driving and traffic control services in Valencia and Alicante.
This call corresponds to the Public Employment Offers for 2023 and 2024 and also includes the creation of Temporary Employment Pools.
Of the 68 positions, 32 are for train drivers in Valencia; 17 for train drivers in Alicante; 6 for Traffic Managers in Valencia; 7 for Traffic Managers in Alicante; and 6 for Controllers at the Valencia Control Center.
Those who pass the selection process regulated here but do not obtain a position will be placed on the Temporary Employment Pools.
FGV, in collaboration with Labora, has also opened the recruitment process for traffic controller positions at the Valencia Control Center.
Previously, in 2025, FGV had also launched a public call for applications through a competitive examination process to fill 73 customer service positions in Valencia and Alicante.
This call corresponds to the Public Employment Offers for the years 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 and also includes the creation of Temporary Employment Pools.
Of the 73 customer service positions, 43 are with Metrovalencia and 30 with TRAM d’Alacant.
In 2024, a call for applications was opened for the selection of permanent staff to fill 70 positions in various maintenance areas in Valencia and Alicante, as well as for the corresponding Temporary Employment Pool. These positions corresponded to FGV’s Public Employment Offers for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023.
