  • The entire power line from the Sant Isidre substation to the Empalme substation will be replaced, with an investment of 2.7 million euros.
  • The current devices were put into service in 1988 and have suffered the logical wear and tear over more than thirty years.

Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has awarded the contract for the renovation and improvement of the high voltage installations in the underground stations of Metrovalencia lines 1 and 2, in order to modernise installations commissioned in 1988, more than thirty years ago, and thus provide a better service to users.

The public company will invest 2,782,733.21 euros, VAT included, in works that involve replacing the entire existing high voltage line on this section with a double ring that will run from the Sant Isidre substation to the Empalme substation, supplying the Safranar, Patraix, Jesús, Plaça Espanya, Àngel Guimerà, Turia, Campanar, Beniferri and Empalme transformer substations.

The high-voltage switchgear (set of switching, regulation and control devices and measuring devices, including the accessories of the electrical conduits, used in the electrical installations) in the substations of Sant Isidre and Empalme will also be fitted out.

Work will also be carried out at the Safranar, Patraix, Jesús, Plaça Espanya, Turia, Campanar, Beniferri and Empalme transformer substations, replacing the existing group of power cells and transformers on the high voltage side with two groups of power cells and two transformers, as well as renovating the entire low voltage system and auxiliary services at each transformer substation.

Finally, small complementary works and installations will be carried out, which are necessary to complete the planned project. The concessionaire that has been awarded the contract is Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios S.A.
