  • The goal is to provide immediate information from any device, such as information displays, digital signage, websites, or apps.
  • Nearly €2 million has been allocated for the project, which will later be incorporated into the Alicante Tram (TRAM d’Alacant).

Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) is developing the implementation of a new Passenger Information System and Content Management System for Metrovalencia and subsequently for the Alicante Tram (TRAM d’Alacant), called SiIV_360º.

Once the contract for €1,925,825.90 (VAT included) was awarded to Inetum España, development began on a project aimed at implementing a system that will provide real-time information about the transport service from any device or channel (information displays, digital signage, websites, apps, etc.).

The new information system will be managed from integrated control centers located at the València Sud and La Marina Command Posts. This will centralize information from all active systems, including information displays, public address systems, intercoms, closed-circuit television (CCTV), digital signage, equipment on board mobile units, social media, and web applications.

In parallel, the renovation, expansion, and installation of new information displays, digital signage, and other passenger information displays are planned for stations, stops, and rolling stock.

The passenger information system is a fundamental component of FGV’s operations and communication and customer service strategy. With improvements included in FGV’s 2026-2030 Action Plan, current devices are being upgraded and updated to enhance the quality of information and meet the needs and expectations of passengers traveling on the metro and tram network.

Advantages of the 360º Passenger Information System (SiIV)

The new system will serve Metrovalencia and TRAM d’Alacant users and will become the central hub for passenger information management. It will facilitate the management of messages, announcements, timetables, incidents, and content from a single platform and ensure consistent distribution through panels and screens in stations, onboard systems, digital signage, websites, mobile applications, Navilens, social media, and other current and future channels.

SiIV_360º will replace the current fragmented management system with a centralized platform capable of integrating information from service planning, traffic management systems, incident management, facility status, and passenger information systems. Thanks to this integration, passengers will be able to access up-to-date, consistent, and real-time information from any FGV communication channel, improving the travel experience and streamlining communication regarding incidents, service changes, or other relevant operational situations.

The new contract includes, in addition to the platform development, the integration of existing systems to unify them into a single technological solution that enables more agile and efficient information management.

Prior to deployment, an audit of the current system and an inventory of existing equipment will be conducted. This will serve as the basis for developing the implementation and migration plan. Furthermore, a training plan for the personnel involved will be defined once the system implementation is complete, along with its maintenance for a period of 10 years.
