  • Arcadi España emphasises that “all the sections are underway, whether they are finished, under construction or awarded with the administrative procedures completed”.
  • The last contract is for the track superstructure, architecture and equipment of the surface section, as well as the temporary depot.

The Generalitat has awarded the construction works for the track superstructure, architecture and equipment of the section from the Amado Granell ramp to Natzaret, the surface route, as well as the temporary depot for the tram units of Metrovalencia Line 10 (Alicante-Natzaret).

The Minister of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Arcadi España, pointed out that, with this award, “all the sections of the future Line 10 are already underway, in different phases, as there are projects that are completed, under construction or due to start construction with the administrative procedures completed.

For Arcadi España the contracting “is good news that certifies the effort made by the Generalitat to promote an important project for the city of Valencia and for public transport in general, proceeding with the commitment to complete L10 as soon as possible and the commitment to sustainable mobility”.

The budget for the implementation of these works, awarded by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) to the Temporary Business Association formed by the companies COMSA, S.A.U.- Levantina Ingeniería y Construcción S.L., is 6,205,350 euros, VAT included.

Furthermore, FGV has completed the works that have been carried out over the last few weeks on Calle Alicante (Alicante Street) in the city of Valencia and which are also part of the proceedings of the future Line 10 of Metrovalencia, which will link the city centre to the Natzaret district.

Now that the new ventilation grilles have been installed and the shafts for the lifts in the underground station located on Alicante Street have been constructed, and now that the urban layout concerned has been refurbished, the area has been opened to traffic as normal.

At the same time, similar works continue on Amado Granell Avenue.

Line 10

Once completed, Line 10 will connect the centre of Valencia with the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències area and the Natzaret district, considerably expanding the transport service of the Metrovalencia network. This line combines underground and surface sections, with a distance of 5.3 kilometres and 8 stations and stops (3 underground and 5 on the surface).

The construction project for this line as a whole is co-financed by the European Union, through the 2014-2020 European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) operational programme for the Valencian Community.

The planned works are currently underway along the underground section, with a budget of more than 25 million euros. The works include the installation of the entire double track and switches and crossings; drainage and side channels for installations; and the architectural work of the three stations, which includes finishes, flooring, vertical cladding, furniture, etc.

In terms of works that have already been carried out, last February the construction of the ramp connecting the underground and surface sections at the level of Amado Granell Avenue was completed, which also included the construction of the Hermanos Maristas surface stop, for an amount of more than 3.8 million euros.

The rest of the contracts, such as that of electrification, installation of substations and connections of the route between Alacant station and Natzaret, and the contract for signposting, communication and safety have already been awarded and are awaiting the start of construction work
