Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has called for a one-minute work stoppage on Friday, July 3, at 1:00 p.m., at Metrovalencia and TRAM d’Alacant work centers and on all lines in service, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the accident that occurred on July 3, 2006, between the Plaça Espanya and Jesús stations, in which 43 people died.

This initiative was agreed upon by FGV and the workers’ union representatives in Valencia and Alicante in memory of those deceased and injured in this tragic event.

The work stoppage can be carried out by all employees and will affect all Metrovalencia and TRAM d’Alacant trains and trams in service, which will stop at the station they are currently at for a maximum of one minute.

In parallel, the flags at the Palau de la Generalitat and other regional government buildings throughout the Valencian Community will fly at half-mast for 24 hours, and a minute of silence will be observed during the plenary session of the Consell (Valencian Government).
