Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV), as the Railway Authority of the Valencian Community, and currently assuming the functions of both Railway Operator and Infrastructure Manager, expresses its commitment to:
- Consider operational safety as a fundamental and priority principle in FGV’s management.
- Include in its Safety Management System the obligation to comply with each and every applicable legal requirement related to safety.
- Define and establish operational safety objectives, as well as guarantee the necessary means and resources to achieve these objectives.
- Identify, assess, and control operational railway risks arising from FGV’s activities, as well as risks that may be caused by or derived from the activities of third parties.
- Monitor and evaluate the results of the safety objectives set by the organization. • Promote the investigation of incidents related to railway activity, as well as adopt corrective and/or improvement measures to strengthen safety.
- Ensure that all persons involved in operations who may directly or indirectly influence the safety of train traffic receive adequate and sufficient training and qualifications to carry out their activities with the necessary safety guarantees.
- Foster a railway safety culture at all hierarchical levels of the organization, involving the administrations with which FGV interacts, entities, companies, and other relevant bodies in this Safety Policy, establishing communication channels for its understanding and dissemination.
- Guarantee the maintenance of railway safety by adapting and evaluating the effectiveness of FGV’s safety management system, promoting its continuous improvement, and complying with all legal requirements related to safety. • To instill a culture of trust and learning throughout all individuals and departments of the organization, based on feedback and the participation of both staff and any other stakeholders, either directly or through their representatives.
Within its strategic and resource policy, FGV’s Management will lead and demonstrate its commitment to compliance with the Railway Safety Management System in order to achieve the objectives of this policy.
